Copyright As the majority would know, most of my photography is done free of charge. In other words, my time and effort are not covered for the beautiful photos I take. While I'm fine with it, it's important that I am recognised for what I do and the photos I take, and for that to happen I need your support. So if you like my photos and by chance reproduce it (such as uploading on Facebook), I would like some sort of acknowledgement and that can simply be including the original link to the website. Conditions for Use of the Photos
Watermarking It is common for a photographer to add their name or company logo onto their images before releasing them publicly. This process is referred to as watermarking. As you would have already noticed, none of my photos in the public gallery are watermarked - except for the HD version to restrict any sizeable reproductions. Why? I believe photographs look beautiful on their own. They depict the scenes as they were when they were taken. Something artificial like a string of text overlays it, ruins the nature of the photograph. Here is an example of a watermarked image. ![]() In addition to this, I believe the lack of formality would encourage friends and families to use the photos as if they had owned them. Watermarking would restrict the use as it would not rid itself unless it is cropped. Having said that, I do not want any abuse of my generousity. Some ground rules need to be laid. |
